Boyd Wilson
Managing Director
Leading the Bonisch team is Boyd. Starting his career in surveying in the late 1980s, Boyd has worked on projects across the globe and throughout New Zealand. As a changemaker, he has a keen sense of what direction the industry needs to be pushing towards.
His vision for Bonisch is to challenge and propel the company toward sustainable growth. He is passionate about making a tangible difference for communities; he serves as the development manager for the Southland Charity Hospital project.

Craig Ireland
Director | BSurv, LCS, RPSurv, S+SNZ
Craig has been with Bonisch since December 2004. For the past few years, Craig has been heavily involved with the post-earthquake Canterbury rebuild and other projects further afield. From subdivision, land development infrastructure and multi-unit developments, Craig’s experience is second to none.

Adam Ronald
General Manager | BEng Tech, CMEngNZ, PMP, NZCert Infrastructure Procurement Procedures, NZDip Business Management
With over 15 years of experience in the civil industry, Adam brings with him a wealth of experience in leadership, people management, and business development. His passion for helping people and using proactive approaches to find suitable solutions has made him an essential part of the Bonisch team.
Throughout his time with the company, Adam has completed numerous qualifications, including a Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree, a Diploma in Business Management, and Project Management Professionals (PMP), among others.

Matt Faul
Surveying Divisional Manager | MBA, BSurv, S+SNZ, PMQ
Matt was born and raised in Invercargill and returned to the city after gaining experience as a surveyor in Australia and the UK. He joined Bonisch in 2021, leading a team of both seasoned and junior surveyors, ensuring that all services meet the needs of our clients.
In his role at the Invercargill office, Matt is responsible for selecting the right surveyor and equipment for each project, guaranteeing that every task is completed on time and within budget.
In addition to his hands-on expertise, Matt earned his MBA in 2017, further enhancing his leadership and management skills.

Christine McMillan
Planning Divisional Manager | MPlan, BA, MNZPI
As Planning Manager, Christine specialises in land development planning. She project manages the planning process for Bonisch’s clients, collaborating with our team of CAD designers, surveyors and engineers, as well as bringing in project consultants as necessary.
Christine undertakes projects for clients throughout the country, providing a wide range of experience working with a variety of district and regional plans.

Simon Collie
Engineering Divisional Manager | CMEngNZ (Technician), NZDE (Civil, Applied), NZDE (Civil), Dip Project Management, NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Procurement Procedures
Simon, a Southland native, brings over 16 years of experience in civil engineering. He began his career at the Invercargill City Council, eventually leading the Capital Projects team. Since joining Bonisch in 2017, he has brought his extensive expertise in civil engineering and project management to the table, excelling in design, procurement, contract administration, and project execution for diverse civil infrastructure projects.
As Bonisch's Engineering Divisional Manager, Simon assumes various specialised roles. He leads and manages the company's engineering resources, provides strategic direction for major projects, and undertakes a hands-on design approach for the more challenging projects.

Sophie Ward
Business Services Manager
Sophie, a native of Invercargill, brings nearly a decade of professional experience in office management and administration. She began her career with a dynamic rural real estate team, where she developed her skills in managing operations and supporting a fast-paced environment.
Eager for new challenges, Sophie joined the Bonisch team as the Business Services Manager in 2023. In this role, she plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and contributing across various aspects of the business.

Johnathan Hodson, Ngāi Tahu (Kāti Huirapa)
Te Anau Branch Manager | Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, BSurv (Hons), S+SNZ
A born and bred Southlander, Johnathan first joined Bonisch as a student in 2002 and has continued to further his surveying career with us and is now the Te Anau Branch Manager. He specialises in cadastral surveying, civil engineering design, topographical surveying, construction set-out, as-builts and project management.
A love for the outdoors and a desire to understand how property is created and managed drives his professional passion, attributes critical to effective client liaison and completing projects.

Mark O’Connor
Christchurch Branch Manager | Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, BSurv, S+SNZ
Mark began his career at Bonisch in Southland before heading to Christchurch and later becoming branch manager. As well as coordinating the branch’s projects and work allocation, he is involved in land development projects that cover both surveying and civil engineering disciplines.
Problem-solving is at the heart of every project for Mark, where he looks at how delivering a project will produce a tangible outcome and meet our clients’ needs.

Jeremy Rees
Principal Civil Engineer | B.E. (Civil) Hons, CPEng, CMEngNZ, IntPE(NZ)
Jeremy joined Bonisch in 2023 as a Principal Civil Engineer, bringing extensive experience and a broad skill set to land development and three waters infrastructure projects. With a proven track record as an Engineer to Contract and project manager, Jeremy has successfully overseen nearly $100 million in contracts.
Specialising in stormwater treatment design and three waters infrastructure, Jeremy is well-versed in asset management, horizontal infrastructure project management, construction observation, project cost estimation, and health and safety in design. His extensive experience and professional expertise have quickly made him an integral part of the Bonisch team, where he continues to contribute to the company's success and growth.
While Jeremy has experience from around the country, he is a born-and-bred Southlander who values time with his family and the outdoors.

Anna Thomas
Licensed Cadastral Surveyor | BSurv
Anna Thomas has been a valued member of Bonisch Te Anau for six years, with a rich background spanning 20 years in the surveying profession both around New Zealand and overseas. She is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and a member of Survey and Spatial NZ. Anna's expertise encompasses a broad range of surveying, currently focusing on cadastral survey and land development. Anna enjoys family beach holidays, skiing, and actively participating in her children’s schools and local community.

Brad Sayer
Senior Designer/CAD Lead
Brad has been a key member of Bonisch since September 2007, bringing with him an impressive 29 years of experience using AutoCAD and over 20 years of expertise in Civil 3D. Specialising in Civil Infrastructure 3D modeling and drafting, Brad excels at bringing ideas to life using the latest software and technologies. With two decades of experience in the land development space, his contributions are integral to the successful execution of projects.
Outside of work, Brad has a passion for motorcycling and classic cars.

Brent Edgerton
Senior Surveyor | BSurv
Brent carries 18 years of surveying experience and has been part of Bonisch since 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying and has worked in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Christchurch before moving to Invercargill. His expertise include cadastral, topographic, building, engineering, and mining setout surveys. In his downtime Brent enjoys trout fishing, swimming, golfing, and spending time with his three young boys.

Callum Ross
Intermediate Planner | BSc
Callum Ross joined Bonisch in 2022 and is based in the Christchurch office. With five years of experience as a planning consultant, Callum has contributed to a wide variety of projects across the Canterbury region and New Zealand. Callum has worked on projects of all sizes, bringing a tailored approach to each to ensure successful outcomes for clients. Outside of work, Callum enjoys staying active through running, reading, and spending time outdoors with his dogs.

With five years’ experience at Bonisch, Cheuk Him specialises in both land development engineering design and surveying. Beyond his work, Cheuk Him has a passion for traveling, Formula 1, gaming, badminton, and cooking.

Chris Malcolm
Civil Engineer | NDAT, NZDE (Civil), NZDEP (Civil), CMEngNZ
Chris Malcolm has been part of Bonisch since 2013. He specialises in geometric modelling to produce quality designs with particular focus on roading and three waters infrastructure delivery. With a keen eye for plan production, Chris creates high quality outputs, maximising design efficiencies and minimising costs. When out of office, Chris spends his spare time with family and exploring the outdoors.

Chris Walker
Licensed Cadastral Surveyor | Bsurv
Chris is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor with 20 years of professional expertise. He brings valuable experience from his work in Dunedin, Christchurch, and Hamilton, guiding clients through the subdivision process in Southland. Chris has been with Bonisch since 2013, specialising in topographical and engineering surveying, as well as producing cadastral plans. In his free time, Chris and his family enjoy exploring Southland and Otago, taking advantage of the region’s tramping, biking, and skiing opportunities.

Dillen Von Solms
Senior Civil Engineer | NZDE (Civil)
Dillen is a Senior Civil Engineer at Bonisch Christchurch, with a NZ Diploma in Engineering (Civil) and currently pursuing a NZ Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil). With over ten years of experience, Dillen specialises in managing complex civil infrastructure and land development projects, including earthworks, roading and utility installations. He is skilled in design, project coordination, construction monitoring, and compliance with NZ engineering standards. Outside of work, Dillen enjoys spending time with family, participating in sports, and staying active outdoors.

George Garthwaite

George joined the business in January 2024, bringing with him a unique blend of experience in both education and surveying. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education. After starting his career in surveying in 2008, George spent 12 years as a secondary math teacher before returning to his passion for surveying.
In his personal time, George enjoys getting outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family.

Graeme Crouchley

Graeme came on board in October 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying (BSurv) and brings 12 years of experience in the surveying profession. Graeme specialises in cadastral surveying, building setouts, and topographic surveys, and also has a background in infrastructure design and resource planning. Away from the office, Graeme enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and socialising with friends.

Jenna Herbert
Survey Cadet
Jenna joined Bonisch in March 2021 and is currently pursuing a diploma in surveying. She brings experience in topographical surveys, building setouts, small-scale subdivisions and redefinition surveys, as well as in producing civil and scheme plans. Outside of work, Jenna enjoys staying active and learning new skills through home renovations.

Jess McDowall
Civil Engineer | NZDE (Civil)
Joining Bonisch straight out of school in 2019, Jess completed a cadetship while earning her Diploma of Civil Engineering through Otago. With a focus on civil 3D modeling and engineering design, she has contributed to a range of projects, including complex multi-lot development scheme plans and road rehabilitations for SDC. Additionally, she is the primary drone pilot for Bonisch. Jess is actively engaged in the local engineering community through her role on the Southland Young Engineers Committee for Engineering New Zealand. Outside of work Jess enjoys participating in sports and social activities.

Luke Lemin has been with Bonisch since graduating with a Bachelor of Surveying in 2019. He is experienced in Cadastral Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Engineering Setout, Laser Scanning, and Control Networks, bringing precision and expertise to each project. When he's not working, Luke enjoys staying active through hiking and going to the gym.

Meredith has evolved from a surveyor to a civil engineer over her 16 years at Bonisch, specialising in contract management and MSQA. Holding both a BSurv and a BEng (Hons), her experience spans surveying, engineering design, and project oversight. Outside of work, Meredith enjoys time with her dogs, experimenting with new recipes, and tending to her houseplants.

Merryn Maguire
Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and Professional Registered Surveyor | BSurv (Dist), RPSurv
Merryn Maguire has over 30 years of experience at Bonisch, specialising in all areas of cadastral surveying. She holds a Bachelor of Surveying (Dist), is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor (LCS) and a Registered Professional Surveyor (RPSurv) and a member of S+SNZ. With 34 years in the profession, Merryn brings extensive knowledge to her work. In her spare time, she enjoys tramping, walking, swimming, spending time with her family, as well as travelling.

Nick Watt
Senior Project Manager | NZDE (Civil), PRINCE2 Practitioner - Project Management (6th Edition)
Nick, with over 15 years of civil engineering experience, joined Bonisch in January 2020. He holds an NZ Diploma in Engineering (Civil) and a PRINCE2 Practitioner certification in Project Management. Specializing in project delivery, design management, and contract administration, Nick has overseen major projects, including the $80M Dunedin City Council Peninsula Connection. His experience spans roles at Invercargill City Council and Fulton Hogan, giving him a strong grasp of project management from local government, consultancy, and contracting perspectives. Nick’s interests include rugby, cricket, fishing, and computer technology.

Scott Dickson, a Southland local, joined Bonisch in 2023. With a Master of Planning, he brings expertise in urban and regional planning, offering tailored solutions for resource consents and development projects.

Silas Dalley
Land Development Engineer | BSurv
Silas has been with Bonisch Christchurch since earning his Bachelor of Surveying from the University of Otago in 2019. He brings extensive experience in field surveying, civil design, and modeling with Civil 3D. Silas also prepares Building Consent and Engineering Approval packages and uses Leica laser scanning for 3D modeling. In his free time, Silas enjoys cars, technology, and traveling.

CAD Draughtsperson
Tania joined Bonisch in 2021 as a CAD Draughtsperson, where she draws up plans and designs for a wide range of projects. With a keen eye for detail and a technical skillset, Tania supports the team in turning project concepts into precise, actionable plans.
Tania enjoys spending time with her family, supporting her kids in their various activities. She also loves tramping and camping, making the most of New Zealand's great outdoors.

Zach Mirfin

Zach holds a Bachelor of Surveying (BSurv) and started with Bonisch January 2023. Over his two years of in the surveying profession, Zach has developed his skills in topographic, setout, asbuilt, and cadastral surveying, as well as GIS applications. Zach enjoys a range of outdoor activities, including golf, tennis, hunting, and competing in multi-sport events.
