This role would suit a recent surveying graduate or someone with practical surveying experience who is looking to build a career in the land development industry. Experience is advantageous, but we're equally interested in people with enthusiasm, initiative and a strong willingness to learn.

About the Role

As a key member of our surveying team, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality surveying services across a diverse range of projects throughout Canterbury and the wider South Island.

Key Responsibilities

• Topographical surveys in urban and rural environments

• Building setout surveys, as-builts, and Building Location Certificates (BLCs)

• Cadastral and boundary redefinition surveys

•  Construction set out for civil contractors and developers

• Assisting with survey calculations and data processing

• Preparing plans, datasets and survey information for clients and project teams

• Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and territorial authorities

• Assisting senior surveyors with project delivery and fieldwork

What We're Looking For

• Good problem-solving skills and practical common sense

• Friendly and professional when dealing with clients and contractors

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions

• Positive attitude, initiative and a strong work ethic

To be successful in this role you will also: 

• Ideally a New Zealand qualification in Surveying, or currently completing one

• Experience in surveying fieldwork

• Understanding of surveying principles and techniques

• Experience with, or willingness to learn, 12d Model and Civil 3D

• Comfortable using, or willing to learn, GNSS and total station equipment

• Good computer and data management skills

• Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
