As a multidisciplinary consultancy, we deliver surveying, engineering, planning and project management services across a diverse range of infrastructure, land development and commercial projects. This role offers the opportunity to influence project delivery while helping maintain and continuously improve our management systems, quality assurance processes and compliance frameworks.

The requirements of the roles are flexible to suit the successful candidate, but may include the following:

• Construction Management and Contract Administration (CMCA) on active projects.

• Acting as a primary client contact on-site and ensuring strong relationships with stakeholders.

• Confirm the contract form, delegated authority, construction monitoring level and project-specific requirements before work begins. 

• Assemble and maintain contract documents; review contractor submissions, insurances, bonds, programmes, management plans and pre-start compliance. 

• Arrange, chair and minute start-up and regular contract meetings; maintain clear action, instruction, variation and correspondence registers. 

• Issue and track formal instructions and notices within delegated authority, escalating matters requiring Engineer approval. 

• Review payment claims, quantities, variations and extensions of time; prepare accurate recommendations, schedules and supporting records within contract timeframes. 

• Plan inspections, tests and audits to suit project risk, programme and the agreed monitoring level. 

• Undertake site inspections, verify work against drawings and specifications, identify non-conformance and confirm remedial actions are closed out. 

• Maintain complete site diaries, photographs, checklists, testing and QA records for every visit. 

• Ensure compliance and adherence with project Resource Consent and Engineering approval/building consent conditions.

• Coordinate practical completion, code compliance information, defects inspections, final completion, final accounts and project close-out records. 

• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, designers, councils and other consultants while applying a fair, evidence-based approach.

To be successful in this role you will also: 

• Have at least with 5 + years working experience in the civil industry, whether that be consultant, contractor, client or council.

• Strong skills in construction management and client liaison.

• Full drivers license and willingness and ability to travel to remote projects around Southland and Otago

• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to professional growth.
