Graduate/Intermediate Planner

We’re looking for a graduate to intermediate planner to join our team in Invercargill.

Bonisch is a progressive and innovative privately owned business based in Invercargill, with branch offices in Te Anau and Christchurch. We specialize in land development, civil engineering, resource management, planning, and surveying. With a strong forward workflow of exciting projects throughout New Zealand, Bonisch requires an additional Planner to join our Invercargill team.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Graduate/Intermediate Planner at Bonisch. The Planner will be responsible for assisting in all stages of land projects, including land development, resource management, and planning. Daily tasks include

· Speak with clients, receive instructions, prepare client engagement agreements, advise clients on feasibility, cost and timeframe to complete projects

· Undertaking assessments of environmental effects

· Researching and preparing resource consent applications

· Liaising with other professionals as necessary in the preparation of more complex resource consent applications where a team approach is appropriate

· Liaising with territorial authorities re processing of resource consent applications

· Preparing and making submissions to hearing of applications

· Preparing and making briefs of evidence for Council hearings and for the environment court

· Working with clients, contractors and territorial authorities regarding compliance with consent conditions

· Collaborating with other senior staff regarding giving effect to resource consents

Qualifications

· Collaborating with other senior staff regarding giving effect to resource consents

· Research, Project Planning, and Client Collaboration skills

· Knowledge of land development, resource management, and planning processes

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and in a team

· Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related field
